Reoa [OOC] is a female Nottawolf. I began using her as my Out of Character presence on The Lion King MUCK, and had to keep denying the "Ethiopian Wolf" in her species setting. In time, I came up with a description.
Reoa's [OOC] Description:
Reoa is a fairly young female Ethiopian Wolf, with a dusty pelt that ranges in color: grey-brown, near black, rufous, and small patches of white.
But no! That nervous young Wolf is only an outward seeming. Triangular ears have a tendancy to increase in size, becoming tall and oval--or remain triangular, but sport black tufts. The grey pelt changes, usually black spotted over a base color that can be anything from pale tawny through rust to a deep bronze. The spots themselves shift from blotches to rosettes to flecks and striping.
The muzzle shortens, its nose mottling pink. Longer whiskers sprout, on not only cheeks but on her brows. Beneath, flecks of amber around her (round? or slitted?) pupils extend to mask the iris's former slate grey with gold, or orange, or deep brown.
Just what kind of feline this Reoa might be in truth is under debate, and changable--but any half-way observant person will acknowledge that, beyond doubt, she is Not a Wolf.
