This is the nursery where their cubs are born, nursed, and raised until they are old enough to walk around out side. It is here that they first open their eyes to see their first sights. Here, they open their ears and hear some of their first sounds. Hear they get their teeth and eat some of their first meat. Indeed, this is a VERY special place. The only door into the room opens out onto a small ledge about six feet a- bove the floor. Down below, the bottom of the cave is covered with a thick, soft moss that tickles the pads of your feet as you walk across it. A small pool of rainwater has collected in a bare area off to one side, able to enter through a narrow crack in the ceiling that also provides light during the day. You see a beautiful young panthress in perfect feline form. Though she looks fragile, the muscles that ripple every now and then under her soft ebony fur tell you that she isn't anything but strong. She has a pair of bright baby blue eyes that always seem to have a smile hidden behind them no matter what mood she is in. The most striking feature about this young panthress, however, is her size. She was a victim of premature birth, and it shows. She's only about two-thirds the size of an average panthress her age.. But this isn't neccesarially a bad thing - Her petite form seems to make her even more beautiful. She's also got quite a few fresh wounds now. One large wound on the nape of her neck that appears to be from another leopard or panther, and one more on her right paw that was inflicted upon herself, by herself. She's also got a number of smaller, less noticeable cuts and scratches.. ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~ Liata Liata is a young female Panthress cub. Her fur, fluffy rather than sleek at this young age, is a dark grey-black in low light. Her eyes are still closed. Chuki yawns sleepily and lifts her head from her paws. She's laying curled protectively around her three cubs. After a moment, she leans down and licks slowly over Liata's head. "You awake, love?" Liata yawns and shifts sideways. Maybe. Chuki smiles softly to herself and continues watching the cubs silently, then reaches down with a paw and strokes lightly at Kituko's fur, then Liata's, whispering to herself: "Wow.. Who'd have thought that the cubs I didn't even want would be this beautiful.." Liata mews, a high questioning sound, turning her blind head towards her mother. Chuki giggles and leans down again to lick over her cub's muzzle happily. "So you are awake! You little trickster!" Liata squirms at the tickling feeling. Chuki lifts back up and smiles again, then scoots Liata swiftly against her stomach fur. "You hungry, darling?" Liata noses around and then latches on. The answer seems to be yes. Chuki murrs and licks over Liata's ears softly after she begins to nurse, then raises back up and watches proudly, purring softly to her. Liata kneads at Chuki with her forepaws, begining to purr contentedly. Chuki watches for a little longer, then lays her head on the ground, and quickly becoming ingulfed in thought. What's it going to be like raising her first litter around lions? Why couldn't the father be here to help her? Wait.. Why would she /want/ the father here?.. Liata continues kneading, her cub-soft claws digging in. Chuki finally looks back again and continues watching Liata with half-lidded eyes, still smiling proudly to herself. Liata curls up, full and content. Chuki leans down to nuzzle her cub gently again. "G'night, sweetheart," she whispers. Liata purrs as she drifts into sleep.
